NBA: Wizards Shell Out For Arenas, Warriors Desperate For Move

Injury prone Gilbert Arenas' ego obviously got the better of him when he thought it would be easy to find a successful team that would pay him the maximum salary. He backtracked and accepted a stay with the Wizards worth 6 years and $111 million, as if he was doing them a huge favor for taking a small cut from the maximum. If he gets hurt again next year, they may be regretting this move for a long time. Golden State is still fuming over Baron Davis. It is being reported that they are now in talks with signing Clipper Corey Maggette. They have a lot of cap space now, and plan to offer him more than the mid-level salary, which is more than any other team is willing to pay. It looks like Elton Brand is intent on staying in L.A. The Warriors have also expressed interest in Andre Iguodala and Josh Smith.
