Sergio Mora In Talks To Move Up, Face Pavlik

New WBC Light Middleweight champion Sergio Mora(21-0) appears to be in serious talks with dumping his title and moving back up in weight to face undisputed champ Kelly Pavlik(34-0) this fall. Mora previously had other ideas on how to move on, but those fights would have been in the Light Middleweight division, something Vernon Forrest would not allow. Forrest immediately let it be known that he would take full advantage of his 'iron-clad' rematch clause in their contract, demanding a quick rematch. The word is Forrest will not go continue after Mora to the 160 pound limit, so Mora/Pavlik appears to be a go so far.

Pavlik's fall bout had originally been scheduled to be against sturdy and dangerous contender Marco Antonio Rubio, but as that is out the door, there really isn't a better fight out there for Kelly this fall, as he plans to waste no time taking on Arthur Abraham(27-0) early next year. Abraham is a week removed from his shocking 4th round stoppage of Edison Miranda. Mora has spent the majority of his career at the 160 limit, so it will not be that much of a stretch to come back up against Pavlik. The fight would ultimately take place at the end of September, or middle October.
